Another unique antenna from B & W!
Utilizing the same technology as our folded dipoles, the
ACS antennas are
grounded. They are particularly well suited to usage with the ends mounted
directly down to the ground, or on top of metal roofs for base
stations. They offer fully automatic, low SWR operation over the entire HF
band without need for an antenna tuner/coupler. They are frequency
agile, and will operate continuous ALE or frequency hopping. They will
propagate excellent NVIS, medium or long distance.
Besides impressive performance
transmitting, this antenna design also delivers when it comes to reception.
The superior signal to noise ratio and a high impedance terminator allows
reading the weakest signals that other antennas would lose in the background
noise. You even get automatic static bleed off from wind or
thunderstorms.
There are no mechanical parts like relays or motors to wear
out, as in some other broadband tuning systems!
Ready to go right out of the box, no taps to change, no measuring, nothing to
tune. Designed for the military, built to last, priced for
anybody's budget. Fast and simple to deploy.
It's Simple . . . It's Reliable . . .
It Works!
Why utilize a broadband
antenna?
- Frequency Agile
|
- The new standard for military, government,
homeland defense. Hop frequencies at any speed as long as you want,
as there are no mechanical parts or active components to wear
out. ALE radios allow reliable HF communications in any weather,
day or night, without an experienced operator.
|
| Military/Govt |
This one antenna performs short, medium,
and
long haul, NVIS, and ALE. Whatever the mission, this antenna will
perform. |
| Emergency
Management |
Covers all of your special emergency
frequencies including FEMA,
present and future. |
| Commercial |
Marine or land based. No matter
which frequencies you get assigned, no problem. |
| MARS,
ARES, RACES, CAP, Amateur |
This one antenna does all of your
"out of band" frequencies! If your frequencies change it
isn't a problem. For regular amateurs, it is a single antenna
solution. |
- Cost
|
- Low cost. Utilize one antenna instead of
several. No need for an antenna tuner. No antenna switches
needed.
|
- Performance
|
- Not limited to conventional ham bands. Tune any
frequency in the antenna's bandwidth, and have VSWR of 2:1 or better.
Capture weak signals in receive mode. Much better performance
than any vertical. Very reliable.
|
- Simple to Install
|
- Easy to install as inverted Vee or sloper. Simple
grounding system requires one counterpoise run under antenna
(included).
|
- Simple to Use
|
- Commercial, military, and disaster relief
operations may utilize personnel with far less training. No more
choosing which antenna to use, no endless playing with a tuner.
|
Usage Tips: Use stainless steel
wire for base stations. Use PVC insulated copper for
camouflaged or temporary installations.
The antenna is terminated at both ends by ground stakes (not included.).
The center of the antenna must be supported approximately 25 - 30 Ft
above the ground. A counterpoise wire (supplied) may be necessary to join
the two ground locations, especially in roof top or other applications
where uncertain ground conditions exist. The antenna is omnidirectional at
the lower frequencies, with mostly high angle radiation useful for long
distance. From approximately 5 to 15 MHz, the radiation at lower angles
increases, and above 15 MHz the antenna becomes more directional in the
line of the antenna wire, toward the balancing network. In applications
where space is limited, the wire may be shortened without greatly
affecting the VSWR, but lowering the radiation efficiency.
